STONE SOUR's COREY TAYLOR To Announce New Project At 'New York Comic Con'
September 21, 2012SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor will make a special appearance at this year's New York Comic Con. He will be at the Dark Horse Comics booth to announce a brand-new project on Saturday, October 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Although it has not yet been officially confirmed, Taylor is expected to reveal STONE SOUR's collaboration with Dark Horse — the third-largest comics publisher in the U.S. — on a series of comic books that will be issued in conjunction with "House Of Gold And Bones", STONE SOUR's upcoming two-disc concept album. The first CD arrives on October 23, while the second half will come out next year, probably in May.
"It's looking like we're gonna release the comics in, like, a four-issue miniseries," Taylor recently told Rolling Stone magazine. "So the first two issues will be part one and then the last two issues will be part two. And we want to really try and keep it on a timeline where they come out, right around the time that part two comes out."
He added, "It's basically a visual representation of the short story that I wrote. I'm not sure who the artist is going to be; there are a couple of different guys I want to work with, but it'll be fun for me.
"It's just a lot of moving pieces that are gonna tie together. There'll be a lot of content that's not in the album artistically that'll be on the web site. So everything will really kind of tie together and make it a really cool experience for the listener."
"House Of Gold And Bones" will follow up the band's third album, 2010's "Audio Secrecy".
Taylor and STONE SOUR guitarist Jim Root just got off the road with their other band, SLIPKNOT, but will tour with STONE SOUR later this year.
New York Comic Con takes place October 11-14 at New York City's Javits Center.
